Placenames are part of our everyday language that we knowingly or unknowingly use to describe and define our understanding of and relationship with our local environment and surroundings. Our staff at Lir Archaeology have previously worked with local groups in order to devise suitable and practical methodologies for collecting minor placenames and helped guide them through the process of fieldwork and analysis and on to publication.
